NOSDA During COVID-19

The Northern Ohio Service Directors Association’s main goal is to promote cooperation and build productive working relationships between municipalities. We strive to continually enhance member knowledge of Public Works by providing related training and keeping up with new technologies.

We have discontinued our monthly meetings due to COVID-19 and it doesn’t look like the virus will be going away anytime soon. We are hoping to continue “networking” via Zoom meetings in 2021. The logistics have not been fully worked out but stay tuned. Our goal is to hold virtual meetings on the second Wednesday of the month which is the day we usually met in person.

If you are in need of information from other municipalities, please contact Bob Girardi, girardi@pepperpike.org, and he will arrange to send the request to NOSDA members. This is specifically for information, not for advertising of equipment or services.

We also post job opportunities on our website (NOSDA.org). Please forward your job postings to Bob Girardi.

Deepest Sympathy

Karen Schroedel, spouse of NOSDA Member, David Schroedel Broadview Heights Director of Public Service, recently passed away. NOSDA would like to offer our heartfelt sympathy to David and his family during this difficult time. On behalf of the members of NOSDA, we made a $100 donation to the Karen Schroedel Memorial Foundation.

Karen was passionate about helping others, especially children. Until her illness, she worked as Director of Business Operations at a pediatric speech and occupational therapy practice.  All the money raised will go towards helping families in need who have children requiring speech or occupational therapy.  We are currently in the process of setting up a foundation and the money raised will be transferred into that foundation once it is completed. Thank you very much for your donation.
–Dave Schroedel

NOSDA Donations

NOSDA continues to give back to the community. This year we donated to Cleveland Food Bank and University Settlement.

If you would like to partner with us for this worthwhile endeavor, please mail your check payable to NOSDA to Bob Girardi, City of Pepper Pike, 28000 Shaker Blvd., Pepper Pike, Ohio, 44124. Any denomination would be appreciated.

Thank you in advance for your generosity.

Due to the cancellation of our in person meetings, we would like to add a new feature to our newsletter, member spotlight.
We will feature promotions, retirements and/or accolades of our members. These are unprecedented times and we hope this will allow us to recognize the accomplishments of our members.

Please provide the information to Anna Girardi at girardia@orangevillage.com, you may also include a picture.
